Elery C. Cypher, 88, formerly of Cabot, died Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center.

Born July 23, 1921, in Winfield Township, he was the son of Merle Cypher and Etta (Doerr) Cypher.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a shipping supervisor for Moonlight Mushrooms, retiring in 1984 after 35 years.

He was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church and also was a member and past commander of the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, former president of the Saxonburg Golden Agers and a member of the Moonlight Mushroom Retirees.

Surviving are his son, Larry E. (Nancy) Cypher of Lithia Springs, Ga.; his daughter, Darlene (George) Keck of Valencia; a sister, Ethel Hint of Friendship, N.Y.; his sisters-in-law, Leonice Cypher of Cabot and Ruth Cypher of Freeport; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Frieda M. Doerr Cypher, who died Dec. 20, 2008; two brothers, Earl and Clifford Cypher; and a son, Ronald.

<B>CYPHER</B> — Friends of Elery C. Cypher, who died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot.
