Ellis 50th anniversary
Thomas and Marjorie Ellis of Lyndora celebrated 50 years of marriage with a dinner and dance with family and friends at the Elks Lodge in Butler, given by their children and their spouses.
Ellis married the former Marjorie Soule on Jan. 30, 1960, at First English Lutheran Church in Butler.
They have three children, Anita Ellis Reno of Crafton, Sonia Lindell of Lyndora and Michael Ellis of Butler.
They also have six grandchildren.
Ellis has been the owner of Tom Ellis Garage in Lyndora for 50 years. He is a member of the Butler Rotary, Elks Lodge and NRA. He is an avid hunter and enjoys traveling, especially trips to England to visit friends living in Walsall.
Mrs. Ellis is the retired former co-owner and manager of Walter Ellis Beer Distributor, and a retired former medical secretary at the Butler VA Hospital. She also worked for the Navy Department in Washington, D.C., before her marriage. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, boating and swimming at their cottage in Conneaut Lake, Pa.
The Ellises are members of First English Lutheran Church in Butler.
