10:11 p.m. Saturday — Johnny T. Johnston, 36, of East Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on East Cunningham Street. Johnston also was cited for careless driving.Saturday — Police filed a bad check charge against Kimberly Anne Salsgiver, 30, of Connellsville, Fayette County, who is accused of bouncing a $276.31 check last year at Friedman's on West Brady Street. The check was written on an account with insufficient funds.

9:37 p.m. Sunday — Amanda M. O'Neil, 26, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle crashed on Valencia Road near Brownsdale Road in Forward Township.9:07 a.m. Sunday — Amanda Dittmer, 27, faces charges of felony assault after she allegedly punching and kicking two troopers who showed up at her Broadway Avenue home in East Butler with a warrant for her arrest.Police were met at the home by Joseph Reed, 33, of Butler, who is accused of having anti-anxiety pills without a prescription and heroin-related contraband.Troopers found Dittmer hiding in a closet. When they tried to arrest her, she struggled and allegedly assaulted the officers.Meanwhile, Reed even while handcuffed, allegedly tried to flee the home but was caught.Dittmer was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail. Reed, who is charged with possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and attempted escape, was in the county prison on $5,000 bail.3:07 a.m. Sunday — James S. Karam, 44, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car struck a mailbox and embankment along Mahood Road in Center Township.Sunday — Scott Dodd, 36, of Bruin was arraigned on charges that he broke into a Main Street home in Bruin on Nov. 14. Dodd allegedly stole a hot water tank, kitchen sink and copper wire.He is charged with burglary, trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. Following arraignment, he was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Sunday — One person was arrested for drunken driving during a weekend roving DUI detail in the county. Also, one person was jailed on a bench warrant, and two traffic tickets and 58 warnings were issued.Police said 71 vehicles were stopped during the sobriety checkpoint between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday.8:20 a.m. Saturday — An unidentified vehicle hit a mailbox along Bullcreek Road about one-half mile north of Jefferson Road in Jefferson Township, and did not stop after the crash.12:05 a.m. Saturday — Charles Anderson, 49, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car crashed into a pole at Jefferson and Pillow streets.Wednesday — A thief used a Connoquenessing man's bank card to make unauthorized purchases in Florida.7:55 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Cameron R. Harp, 18, of Fenelton crashed into a ditch after sliding off Chicora-Fenelton Road in Donegal Township. Harp was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Jan. 20 — A thief used a Butler woman's bank card to make $371.94 in unauthorized purchases at stores in Cranberry Township and Gibsonia.

8:55 p.m. Jan. 24 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Sandra R. Houston, 50, of Templeton struck a culvert on Route 28 in Rayburn Township.

10 p.m. Friday — Shawn Michael Green, 41, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Bradley Road in Worth Township.2:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Jena M. Taylor, 36, of Grove City struck a ditch on ice- and snow-covered Route 173 in Pine Township.
