10:20 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Barbara Gallant, 45, of Butler and a 17-year-old girl, who police did not identify, collided at North Duffy and New Castle roads.12:58 p.m. Tuesday — Stephanie Holland, 42, of Slippery Rock was able to escape injury after fire ignited in the engine compartment of a minivan she was driving on Route 356 at Moraine Pointe Plaza. Greenwood Village volunteer firefighters were called and extinguished the blaze.
Tuesday — Someone stole a business sign from the front sidewalk of Jordan's Restaurant on South Broad Street. The sign, which was taken during the evening, is valued at $176.Sunday — An unknown thief between 8 and 9 p.m. stole a Dell Inspiron computer worth $1,400 from a home in the 400 block of Highland Avenue.Dec. 30 — Kurtis Moore, 21, of Mercer told police an unknown white man punched him several times in the face at the Blue Ribbon Tavern on South Broad Street. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
Monday — Police charged a 17-year-old township boy with possessing a weapon on school property after they found a rifle in the back of his car parked on the Seneca Valley High School campus. The gun was not loaded.The boy, who police did not identify, is charged in Butler County juvenile court
5:20 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by June E. Warnick, 79, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Heather D. Kniess, 30, both of Butler collided at Routes 528 and 488 in Prospect. Police said Warnick, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a moderate injury, was cited for a flashing red light violation.5:46 p.m. Tuesday — Douglas Giesler, 41, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash on Route 8 at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.5:10 p.m. Tuesday — Police cited Michael John Scott, no age given, of Portersville for disorderly conduct after he intentionally set his pickup truck on fire at Lake Arthur Estates trailer park in Muddy Creek Township.10:45 p.m. Sunday — Brian M. Smith, 40, of Boyers was arrested for suspicion of DUI after police got a report of a passed out driver at Benbrook and West Brewster roads in Center Township.
12:10 p.m. Monday — Clint B. Wynkoop, 29, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 422 at the Graff Bridge in North Buffalo Township.
