5:39 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Allen Hawk, 42, of Butler backed up and hit a car on Chestnut Street. Shelley Pappas, 55, of Butler was driving the car.1:35 p.m. Wednesday — A van driven by Sarah Weber, 27, of Butler struck a utility pole at Brady and Cecilia streets. Weber suffered minor injuries.9:13 a.m. Sunday — A van driven by Patrick Gallagher, 55, of Butler struck a pickup truck parked at Center Avenue and Marvin Street. The pickup, in turn, was pushed into a parked car.10:45 p.m. Nov. 24 — Daniel W. Ellenberger, 45, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at West Cunningham and Chestnut streets. Police said Ellenberger also is charged with running a red light and driving with a suspended license.

11:45 p.m. Thursday — Sevana Shirvani, 28, of Mars was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car traveled through a grass median and hit an embankment on Route 8 in Penn Township. Shirvani was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.7:22 p.m. Sunday — Several compact discs were stolen from an unlocked car at a Petrolia Street home in Karns City. The owner described the suspected thieves as two white males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and jeans; one also wore a white beanie hat.

4:50 p.m. Thursday — A girl was flown by medical helicopter to an Ohio hospital after a van pulled out of the T/A truck stop and struck a car she was riding in at Route 8 and Log Cemetery Road in Barkeyville. Police did not know the extent of the injuries to the girl, who they did not identify.Police said Samuel W. Hynds Jr., 36, was driving the van and Jonathan C. Pellow, 19, of Franklin was driving the car. Police said their crash investigation continues.

Thursday — Police did not say if anything was taken in a burglary at an Old Mercer Road home in Springfield Township.
