5:05 a.m. Monday — Dwayne Emerick, 24, of Butler reported his girlfriend's vehicle was broken into and a bag of items stored inside stolen between Sunday and Monday mornings while it was parked in the VFW lot on West Jefferson Street. The thief, who stole CDs and a hair dryer worth a total of $100, broke a window to gain access to Robyn Qualk's vehicle, causing $150 worth of damage.11:04 p.m. Sunday — Louise Ann Leonard, 46, of Butler was charged with retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness after allegedly shoplifting nearly $154 worth of clothing from the Hansen Avenue Kmart. Along with the clothing, police found four Klonopin tablets without a prescription bottle in Leonard's purse.8:32 p.m. Saturday — Thomas Richard Bergbigler Jr., 36, of Butler was charged with burglary, unlawful restraint and harassment after allegedly breaking into the residence of Amy Lynn Scott, his girlfriend, at 109 Fourth Ave. Bergbigler, who allegedly entered the building by kicking out a basement window, is accused of preventing Scott from leaving the residence for several hours and threatening her. Police report she eventually fled to a friend's residence and called 911. Police later found Bergbigler at his Lyndora residence at 112 Bessemer Ave. He was arraigned before District Judge Lewis Stoughton on these charges and an outstanding warrant before being jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of two $10,000 bails.

1:27 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Mary Rekich, 52, of Butler and a pickup driven by Richard Rosser, 50, of Fredonia collided at the intersection of New Castle and North Eberhart roads. Cheryl Rosser, 48, a passenger in the pickup, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.11:30 a.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Timothy Crosby, 27, of New Wilmington hit the cement median on Route 422. Crosby received minor injuries.8 a.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Daniel Andreassi, 23, of Butler spun out of control on an icy Route 8 and hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Thomas Keown Jr., 55, of Butler while it was parked alongside the highway due to bad road conditions. After Andreassi's vehicle was disabled, it was struck by a vehicle driven by Brian Brown, 42, also of Butler, that spun out of control.7:25 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Grace Kriley, age unavailable, spun around on an icy Crisswell Road, crossed the other lane and over an embankment before hitting a tree. Kriley was not injured.12:23 a.m. Saturday — Joseph Duncan, 23, of Evans City was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault, possession of a small amount of marijuana, criminal mischief and public drunkenness after he allegedly broke into an Old Plank Estates apartment and assaulted a man who was with Duncan's ex-girlfriend. Duncan was released from Butler County Prison Monday after posting $10,000 bail.

Monday — The window of a car owned by David Sadler, 42, of New Castle was broken while it was parked at Adams Manufacturing on New Castle Road in Muddy Creek Township between 9 and 11 p.m.2:30 p.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Lorrie Sherman, 47, of Butler and a car driven by Tammy Brant, 49, of Renfrew collided at the intersection of Euclid and Beaver Dam roads. Sherman was cited for a stop sign violation.Monday — An unspecified amount of diesel fuel was stolen from a mini-excavator owned by Clyde Keith, 48, of Slippery Rock while it was parked on Park Lane in the Crystal Springs Trailer Park in Mercer Township between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.Monday — Several pieces of gold jewelry were stolen from the residence of Laura Gould, 44, on Headland Road in Summit Township.6:14 p.m. Saturday — Richard J. Nolan, 41, of Butler was arrested on a Protection From Abuse violation at 605 Grant Ave. in East Butler. He was jailed in Butler County Prison. He was released Sunday on $3,000 bail.1 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Dustin Gilbert, 22, of Ellwood City slid off an unnamed street in Lancaster Township and hit a mailbox and a boulder. Gilbert received moderate injuries. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions. The Portersville EMS and Volunteer Fire Department assisted.Thursday — Gloria McKain, 77, of Center Township reported the theft of an antique necklace from her residence at 141 Jan Drive between 6 and 6:30 p.m. A gold tear drop with rose leaves and an amber inset is attached to the gold necklace. Police are investigating.10:45 a.m. Dec. 4 — A car driven by Mary Landgraf, 60, of Fenelton traveled off St. Joe Road, coming to a stop in a creek. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Sunday — The door to the Pine Township residence of John Murphy and Connie Breese at 1206 Enterprise Road was damaged between 5 and 6 p.m. in an apparent break-in attempt.Sunday — Two vending machines inside the Hampton Inn in Springfield Township were pried open between midnight and 11 a.m. An undetermined amount in coins was stolen.6:30 p.m. Saturday — Two men stole various clothing items from Johnston Murphy Outlet Store at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. Police are investigating.10:03 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by John Megatt, age unavailable, of Union City and a vehicle driven by Joshua Lauer, age unavailable, of Greenville collided on Route 208 at the entrance to the Country Fair Store parking lot. Lauer was treated at the scene by EMS. Megatt was cited for failing to yield the right of way.Friday — A Browning Medallion 30-06 bolt action rifle was stolen from the Pine Township residence of Doug Filer on Staffordshire Drive between noon Dec. 6 and 7:26 p.m. Dec. 11. The rifle, which is worth $900, was in a black plastic rifle case and has a Simmons scope.

2:55 p.m. Friday — A pickup driven by John Barva, 83, of Pittsburgh struck the rear of a car driven by David Bonn, 55, of Valencia that was stopped at a stop sign on a ramp onto Route 28 in Aspinwall.State Police, Venango2:40 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Lisa Hillwig, 19, of Hilliards lost control on Route 38 in Scrubgrass Township and hit a parked vehicle in a driveway before spinning counterclockwise and hitting the side of the house. The driver was cited for not driving at a safe speed.

Noon Saturday — A Rancher model Husqvarna chain saw was found on West Main Street in front of Here's Howe. Anyone wishing to claim the chain saw can report to the Grove City Police Department during regular business hours.Friday — A vehicle driven by James Reed, 33, of Grove City struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Richard Esmond, 56, of Farrell on West Main Street. The impact sent Esmond's vehicle into the rear of a vehicle driven by Heather Greer, 38, of Grove City.
