6:57 a.m. Monday — Two people were hurt when a car driven by Kathy Hinterlang, 57, of Butler lost its brakes and struck the rear of another car on East Brady Street. The collision forced the other car, driven by Matthew Fortunato, 46, of Butler into shrubs and a utility pole.Hinterlang was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injures, while Fortunato suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belt.5:59 p.m. Sunday — Charles Grant Jr., 50, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at a West Jefferson Street apartment. Grant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.
3:10 p.m. Tuesday — Two girls face disorderly conduct charges stemming from a fight in front of Butler Intermediate High School. Police did not identify the suspects, who are students. Police said teachers stepped in and separated the girls.
12:34 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Richard G. Zapp Jr., 18, of Butler struck an embankment and overturned on ice-covered Center Drive near Hohn Road in Oakland Township.11:19 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Dana Youngker, 18, of Valencia struck a guardrail on Route 8 near Old Plank Road in Penn Township. Christy Wilson, 18, of Mars, a passenger in the car, suffered a minor injury.10:12 a.m. Monday— Maria L. Pry, 35, of West Sunbury swerved her sport utility vehicle to avoid being struck by a pickup truck that had drifted into her lane, causing the SUV to hit a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Michelle J. Campbell, 37, of Portersville, a passenger in the SUV, suffered a minor injury.Police said Michael J. Kelly, 30, of Boyers, who was driving the pickup, was cited for a lane violation.
2:45 p.m. Wednesday — Vehicles driven by Devin E. Patterson, no age given, and Christine E. Shetter, no age given, both of Stoneboro collided at Route 58 and Irishtown Road in Pine Township. Shetter suffered a minor injury.
