6 a.m. Oct. 7 — A Waste Management garbage truck driven by Jeffrey Paul File, 47, of Bruin struck a Jeep driven by Elaine E. Rea, 58, of Butler before driving onto the sidewalk along Michael Avenue. No one was injured.Oct. 5 — Jason Daniel Bieber, 27, of Harmony was charged with bad checks after he allegedly wrote a check to Dubrook Concrete of Butler for $159.53 that did not clear.
9:40 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by William Enslen, 50, of Prospect struck a deer on Route 422 near the Lyndora Exit, then crashed into a concrete barrier and caught fire. Enslen was not injured.1:40 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Kawana Weston, 34, of Wheatland, Pa., Lisa Lusk, 42, of Sarver and Marcia Rogers, 39, of Sarver collided on New Castle Road near Hansen Avenue. Lusk and her passenger, Debra Love, 42, no address listed, were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. No one else was reported injured.
Thursday — Someone shot two holes in the front window of a business at 138 S. Broad St. with a BB gun between Nov. 13 and Thursday.Thursday — Cheryl Bowan, 40, of Grove City was arrested on two warrants for writing bad checks.
1:21 a.m. Friday — Cassandra Altimus, 40, of Cranberry Township was charged with DUI after she allegedly was discovered asleep in her vehicle in the northbound right-hand lane of Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.2:04 p.m. Thursday — Douglas F. Janaszek, 34, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his truck became stuck in mud as he attempted to drive over the grass median next to PNC Bank near the Clearview Mall. Janaszek drove into the grass because his vehicle would not fit under the 9-foot clearance of the bank drive-thru.5:35 p.m. Nov. 29 — A car driven by Jeffrey D. Betts, 27, of Johnstown struck a deer on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Betts was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.2:45 p.m. Nov. 29 — A SUV driven by Kelley A. Dempsey, 18, of Portersville and a car driven by James E. Brandt, 32, of Portersville collided on Burnside Road near Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Dempsey and her passengers, Olivia K. Boyd, 19, of Kathleen, Ga., and Joshua M. Rodriguez, 18, of Los Angeles, were not injured. Brandt, who was not injured, was cited for driving under suspension DUI -related and driving at an unsafe speed.1:36 a.m. Nov. 29 — James Lemmon Jr. of Prospect was arrested under suspicion of DUI after being stopped by police for several traffic violations on Route 488 in Prospect.
