10:15 p.m. Thursday — Police are seeking a rogue Good Samaritan suspected of snatching a purse out of a Butler woman's car.The 44-year-old woman told police that she was driving on Morton Avenue and pulled onto Sumner Avenue, where she stopped to check the headlights. When she got out of her car, she left the driver's side door open.She said a white male wearing a gray shirt and blue shorts came from behind the vehicle and asked if she was OK. He walked away when she told him all was fine.The woman did not realize her purse was gone from the car until she returned home. She drove back to Sumner Avenue but could not find her purse or the unknown suspect.The purse contained the woman's diabetic medication, a glucose meter and inhaler. Also in it was her wallet with a bank card and $15.8:37 p.m. Thursday — Jason Roberts, 23, of Butler was arrested after he tried to instigate a fight at a West North Street apartment, and then got unruly with officers.Police were called to the apartment where the suspect had gone and allegedly attempted to start a fight with the occupants. Nearby the home, officers found Roberts, who they suspected was intoxicated.Police took the defendant to the station where he became "combative" with officers, the report said.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Roberts on charges of trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.
Monday — An unknown burglar stole an unspecified amount of money from a McQuistion Road home. The break-in, which happened sometime after Nov. 14, could be connected to several other daylight burglaries in the area around the same time.Investigators are asking that anyone who lives in the area of McQuistion Road and saw anything suspicious between Nov. 14 and Monday to call police at 724-285-9600.
5:20 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Carolyn Touryniere, 59, of Dahlonega, Ga., struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Harmony,Tuesday — About $200 in quarters was stolen between 12:50 and 1:30 p.m. in a burglary at a home on Rustic Ridge Lane in Summit Township.Sunday — Several undisclosed items were reportedly stolen in a break-in at a Grace Lane home in Muddy Creek Township. The burglary happened between 6 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 a.m. Sunday.7:15 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Butler girl rear-ended another SUV on Saxonburg Road near Stacey Lane in Jefferson Township. The girl, who police did not identify, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Loraine A. Bowser, 58, of Butler was driving the vehicle hit from behind.10:55 a.m. Nov. 22 — A car driven by Lauren A. Roush, 20, of Cabot struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Star Grille Road near Ambrose Lane in Winfield Township. Roush was cited for a lane violation.
