Chervyl A. Martin, 79, of Herman passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer.

Born in Butler, June 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William Staley and Hazel Williams.

She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She also enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She played the piano at the North Street Christian Church and at Butler Arbors.

She was a member of the North Street Christian Church, and she was a former member of the Musicians' Union.

She is survived by her husband, Donley A. Martin, to whom she was married for 40 years; three daughters, Debra King and her husband, Steven, of Butler, Dawna Rhodaberger and her husband, A.J., of Butler, and Dianna Hoehn and her husband, Paul, of Butler; two stepsons, Earl Donley Martin of Dunns Station, Washington County, and William Henry Martin and his wife, Linda, of Dunns Station; one stepdaughter, Nancy Mundell and her husband, Jerry, of Avella, Washington County; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

<B>MARTIN</B> — Friends of Chervyl A. Martin, who died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the North Street Christian Church.
