William Louis Rotunda, 61, formerly of Butler, passed away Oct. 19 in Sarasota, Fla.

Born Feb. 6, 1948, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late George and Ida Rotunda of Meridian.

He worked at the family business in Meridian, the former Meridian Inn, and at the Palmer House and the Sunnyside Motel in Sarasota.

His was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He would always help to care for the needy in Sarasota and was always willing to help others.

He is survived by a son, William V. Rotunda, 18, of Sarasota; and brothers, George Rotunda (Lucy) of Meridian and Naples, Fla., Greg Rotunda (Valerie) of Renfrew and his twin brother, Richard (Christine) of Charlotte, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

<B>ROTUNDA</B> — A memorial service for William Louis Rotunda, who died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, will be held Nov. 21 in Sarasota.The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
