Robert O. Solkovy Sr.
Robert O. Solkovy Sr., 85, formerly of Linsdale Drive, Butler, died at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday at Orchard Manor, Grove City.
Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Albert Solkovy and Ida Laglar Solkovy.
Mr. Solkovy Sr. attended St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.
He was a certified public accountant, and owner of R.O. Solkovy and Associates, retiring April 15, 2003.
Mr. Solkovy was a veteran of the U.S. Army 17th Airborne paratroopers serving in World War II.
Mr. Solkovy is survived by a son, Robert O. Solkovy Jr. and his wife, Terri, of Butler; two grandchildren, Shauna Christine McChesney and her husband, Ben, of Butler, and Melissa Erin Solkovy of Butler; a sister, Mrs. James (Elise) Farland of Monaca; a brother, Richard Solkovy, of Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Solkovy Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Heuler) Solkovy, who passed away June 7; a son, John K. Solkovy; a sister; and a brother.
<B>SOLKOVY</B> — Friends of Robert O. Solkovy Sr., who died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St.Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home with Dr. Robert C.
