2 new businesses want space on Rt. 356

Another office move approved

BUFFALO TWP — Business development continues along Route 356 in the township.

Associates in Respiratory Medicine plan to renovate a vacant house at 810 S. Pike Road for a medical office building.

There will be no additions to structure, which is about 1,400 square feet.

Along with the addition of a parking lot, landscaping would be done to the site.

The office, which would be staffed by three full-time employees and a doctor, would treat and diagnose lung diseases and sleep disorders.

The township supervisors Wednesday set a public hearing on a conditional use request for the property at 7 p.m. Dec. 2.

Because the site is in an area zoned general residential and in an overlay district, a conditional use must be granted before the office can be opened.

The supervisors also approved a site plan for a second new business: a cookie and gift shop at 101 N. Pike Road.

Mary Ann Costan of Natrona Heights, who owns the land, and Jayne Dietrich, a township resident, would operate Bear Creek Gifts & Jayne's Doughs in a vacant two-story house.

In addition to reviewing plans for the two new businesses, the supervisors approved a conditional use for a dentist to relocate her office from Buffalo Plaza to 603 S. Pike Road.

With this approval, Dr. Kimberly Fitzgerald is permitted to move her office into the new building, which would be no larger than 3,500 square feet nor wider than the vacant house on the land.

Fitzgerald has 13 employees.
