Kent 95th birthday
Eveline Kent of Butler celebrated her 95th birthday with a reception at the Tanglewood Center with family and friends.
The former Eveline Freeman was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Newcross, England. She married Owen Vernon Kent on Dec. 24, 1938. He was killed in action while serving in the Royal Air Force during World War II.
After retiring, Mrs. Kent immigrated to the United States in 1980 to live with her daughter and her family.
She has one child, Patricia Snyder of Butler. She also has four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kent's hobbies include working in her greenhouse and feeding and watching the birds. She attends painting classes at the Chicora Senior Center. She also enjoys knitting and sewing.
