Olive L. Shearer

Olive L. Shearer, 96, formerly of East Brady and Kaylor, died Friday at the Sugarcreek Rest home, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.

Born Nov. 27, 1912, in Foster Mills, Pa., she was the daughter of John P. and Cora M. (Jenkins) Shearer.

She was a graduate of Kaylor High School.

Ms. Shearer was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church.

During the Depression years, Ms. Shearer did domestic work. She later was employed as a clerk at Foringer's Grocery Store in Kaylor before operating the Kaylor Post Office for 15 years.

After her retirement, Ms. Shearer moved to East Brady Heights.

She is survived by a nephew, Clinton E. Smith of Erie; and also by great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

<B>SHEARER</B> — Friends of Olive L. Shearer, who died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home</B>, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Pesci, pastor of the East Brady Baptist Church, officiating. Private burial will be at the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery.
