Wilfred L. Shipley, 91, of West Sunbury, formerly of Kennedy Township, passed away Friday.

He was the son of the late Albert and Ida Shipley; husband of the late Myrtle Louise Shipley; loving father of the late William Shipley and his surviving wife, Bianca; Judy (Robert) Burletic and James (Kathy) Shipley; devoted and loving friend of Jean Martin and his buddy, "Tippy" the cat; grandfather of Terri, Bill, Brian, Will, Tammy, Bobby, Kristen and Jessica; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shipley was also preceded in death by his brothers, Cedric and Karl.

Mr. Shipley was a World War II veteran and a member of American Legion Post 464 and the Kenmawr United Presbyterian Church.

<B>Shipley </B>— Friends of Wilfred L. Shipley of West Sunbury, formerly of Kennedy Township, who died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the <B>McDermott Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
