Grenci 90th birthday
Anthony Grenci Sr. of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, celebrated his 90th birthday with a family dinner. He was born Oct. 12, 1919, in Lake Trade, Pa.
He married Rita Florida Dansereau on Oct. 21, 1945, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Brockton, Mass. She is deceased. Anthony and Rita met at a USO Dance in Washington, D.C., when they were both serving in World War II. Anthony was in the OSS, and Rita was a Marine.
He has nine children, Mary Zima, Annette Salsovic, Dave Grenci, Anthony Grenci, Lou Grenci and John Grenci, all of Butler, Rick Grenci of Streetsboro, Ohio, Denise Shank of Zelienople, and Christine Grenci of Pittsburgh.
He also has 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Grenci owned and operated AF Grenci company, which he started shortly after World War II. He sold religious goods, wedding supplies and hand-etched crystal.
He loves to listen to Dixieland jazz and big band music.
Mr. Grenci is a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher.
