Christy 50th anniversary
George and Betty Christy of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with an open house and family dinner given by their daughter and son-in-law.
Christy married the former Elizabeth Louise Malinski on Oct. 3, 1959, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
They have one child, Georgia Dollman of Slippery Rock. An infant son is deceased.
They also have three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Christy is retired from Agway after 30 years of employment. He was a church usher for 35 years. He belongs to the Butler Moose Lodge 64. He also has done volunteer work for the Salvation Army.
Mrs. Christy is a homemaker. She belongs to the Butler Moose Lodge 64. Mrs. Christy has done volunteer work for the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoys doing crafts.
The Christys enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and going to the casinos before Mr. Christy's illness.
The Christys attend St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
