Wednesday — Police filed theft-related charges against Christine M. Kosinski, 47, of Summit Township, who allegedly took $91 and a pack of cigarettes belonging to a Butler Township woman that were on top of the bar at the American Legion on South Main Street. Kosinski is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.Wednesday — Sabrina M. Schreiner, 39, of Forward Township is accused of bouncing a $150 check on March 30 at API on South Monroe Street. Police said the check was written on an account with insufficient funds. She is charged with bad checks.11:31 p.m. Tuesday — A box containing personal items was found on a bus stop bench in front of the Grapevine Center on North Elm Street. The owner can claim the property at the police station on West New Castle Street.Monday — Joshua M. Crispin, 21, and Surenu E. Frank, 24, both of Butler are accused of forging a check belonging to Crispin's mother, and cashing it July 30 for $60. The suspects are charged with forgery, theft and two counts of conspiracy.
4:33 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Michael Boltley, 38, of Cranberry Township and a car driven by Dennis Thompson, 62, of Karns City collided on New Castle Road at the Route 422 exit ramp. Thompson and Lauren Davis, 23, of Karns City, a passenger in the pickup, suffered minor injuries.1:07 p.m. Tuesday — Adams Lees, 24, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 2-year-old child in his Old Plank Road apartment. Lees was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.5:19 p. m. Monday — Steven Wiles, 22, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed into a culvert on Meridian Road. Police said Wiles, who suffered a minor injury, also was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
7:40 a.m. Friday — Sasha Stover, 23, of Sarver was hurt when the school van she was driving crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its side on Deer Creek Road near Love Road.Stover was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police said there were no passengers on the bus, owned by Roenigk.
8:40 p.m. Sept. 30 — Dennis Perry Holmes, 44, of Sharon was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on West Main Street.
11 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Samantha M. John, 19, of Cowansville, Armstrong County, struck a deer on Marwood Road near Bear Creek Road in Winfield Township.Tuesday — Police charged Derik David Stewart, 27, of East Butler with carrying an illegal knife, more than seven months after he was arrested on several bench warrants outside his grandfather's home in East Butler.Stewart, who is charged with possessing a prohibited offensive weapon, was found Feb. 23 with a switchblade-style knife, according to court documents. The charge for having the knife is a first-degree misdemeanor under state law.
10:50 p.m. Tuesday — Amanda M. Thompson, 20, of Parker was hurt when her car struck a utility pole along Route 478 near Freeman Road in Richland Township.Thompson, who was taken to an undisclosed hospital with a moderate injury, told police the crash occurred when she swerved her car to avoid a deer on the road.
Wednesday — An unknown thief stole $120 from a soda machine outside the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Department on Route 208.
