Bleicher 50th anniversary
Robert and Mary Bleicher of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner following a Mass celebration at their church. They were also surprised by family and friends with a picnic at their home.
Bleicher married the former Mary Austin on Sept. 12, 1959, at St. Peter's Church in Conneautville, Pa.
They have six children, Bonnie Gould of Butler, Ed Bleicher of Butler, Lori Braszo of Pittsburgh, Bev Karns of Butler, Tammy Schultheis of Renfrew and Tom Bleicher of Butler.
They also have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bleicher is retired from Aflac Insurance, where he was a salesman. He is a member of his church choir and men's club and is a former member of the church council. He is a longtime announcer for the Butler County Junior Livestock Sale and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, fishing and gardening.Mrs. Bleicher is retired from Gumto's Greenhouse. She is a member of the Christian Mothers group and supports her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by attending their sports, band and 4-H events.The Bleichers attend St. Fidelis Church in Meridian.
