Allison 60th anniversary
Robert and Charlotte Allison of Slippery Rock recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Allison married the former Charlotte Riddle on Sept. 24, 1949, at the home of his parents in North Washington.
They have two children, Robert Allison of Rutherfordton, N.C., and Gene Allison of Slippery Rock.
They also have three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Allison owned and managed the Isaly's store in Slippery Rock from 1964 to 1985. They had worked for Isaly's since the 1940s.
Mr. Allison has served as a deacon and usher at their church and been involved in the Mason's lodge.
Mrs. Allison has been a Sunday school teacher and a member of the women's association at their church.
The Allisons have been active in the local food cupboard and Meals on Wheels and are both avid readers. They have enjoyed golf for many years and are members of several golf leagues at the Shamrock Golf Course in Slippery Rock. Mr. Allison has also experienced three holes in one.
The Allisons belong to Center United Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock.
