Friday — A car driven by Marie A. Scott of East Butler backed into a car owned by Pearl Clowes of Cabot in the Diamond Street parking lot, causing minor damage.9:48 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle owned by John Pithers of Butler was struck in the driver's side door by a vehicle driven by Raymond R. Achesinski of Butler as Pithers was loading the vehicle in an alley behind Lincoln Avenue.

12:30 p.m. Thursday — Lois Daniels, no address listed, was charged with retail theft and trespassing after she allegedly attempted to take items from Wal-Mart without paying.

5:26 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by a 16-year-old Prospect girl crashed into a tree along Staff Road in Brady Township. The driver suffered a minor injury and was cited for driving at unsafe speed.Wednesday — Someone stole an inspection sticker, dated 11/09, from a car belonging to Lindsey N. Spencer of Butler while it was parked on Watterson Lane in Center Township between Aug. 23 and Sept. 23.9:45 p.m. Sept. 19 — A car driven by Jacqueline A. Smith, 18, of Channahon, Ill., and a car driven by Nicholas S. Planas, 18, of Saxonburg collided on Winfield Road in Jefferson Township. Smith and her passenger Joshua J. Giesler, 20, of Saxonburg, as well as Planas' passenger Brandon M. Geist, 23, of Butler each suffered minor injuries. Planas was not injured. Smith was cited for driving outside his lane of traffic, and Planas was cited for driving without insurance.

6:10 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Michael L. Herndon, 47, of Grove City and a car driven by Eric S. Moon, 26, of Mercer collided on Route 58 in Pine Township. Herndon was cited for following too closely.State Police, New CastleSept. 11 — Someone entered a garage on McCaslin Road in Scott Township and stole an air compressor, motorcycle helmets and tennis shoes belonging to Grace E. Baker of New Castle between July 14 and Sept. 11.
