Albaugh

Arlene S. Albaugh, 67, of Butler died Thursday at Alle-Kiski Medical Center.

Born Jan. 19, 1942, in West Deer Township, she was the daughter of Joseph Zonarich and Amelia (Krstonich) Zonarich.

She graduated from West Deer High School. She graduated from Edinboro University with a bachelor of science degree in science education and the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in education.

Arlene was a true "professional" dedicated teacher. Teaching was a passion for her, not just a job. She taught biology for 35 years at Greenville Area High School and Highland Senior High School.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. She was secretary for Friends of the Saxonburg Area Library.

She enjoyed designing and maintaining perennial flower gardens, reading and cooking for family and friends. Arlene was an avid birdwatcher and especially enjoyed her cats, Julie, Cody and Poppy. She was a talented seamstress who fashioned all of her own wardrobes.

Surviving are her husband, Forrest Gale Albaugh, who she married June 18, 1971; her daughter, Amanda Rose (David) Ashbee of Downingtown, Pa.; her son, Forrest J. "Joe" Albaugh of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; her brother, Frank (Dolores) Zonarich of Butler; her sister, Judith (Clement) George of Butler; her granddaughter, Ava Rose Ashbee; her grandson, David Ryan Ashbee; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

<B>ALBAUGH</B> — Friends of Arlene S. Albaugh, who died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
