5:19 p.m. Saturday — Police arrested a city man after he suffered an apparent drug overdose on North Main Street.Paramedics had to revive Gregory P. Mazzanti, 27, who was found breathing but unresponsive, police said. The suspect, however, refused further medical treatment after regaining consciousness, and became "combative" with officers, a police report said.Mazzanti, who was found with a hypodermic needle, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.Saturday — Police filed charges against Kelley Jo Katko, 20, of Butler, who is accused of swiping her mother's bank card and using it to make eight transactions at several Butler stores.The unauthorized transactions Tuesday and Wednesday totaled $773.20. Police said Katko is charged with access device fraud.11:58 a.m. Friday — A truck tractor driven by George E. Burr Jr., 32, of Lyndora and a car driven by Francis Strezeski, 68, of Center Township collided at Hansen and Goldwood avenues.The collision, a police report said, ruptured the truck's fuel tank and caused a "large amount" of diesel fuel to spill onto the road. The fuel spill, in turn, caused police to notify the Butler County Hazardous Material Team and the state Department of Transportation.

4 p.m. Saturday — Police nabbed four suspected illegal aliens, all from El Salvador, following a traffic stop at New Castle and Duffy roads in Butler Township. The suspects — a man and woman, and a 3-year-old girl and 10-month-old boy — were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.12:28 p.m. Saturday — An Allegheny County man was arrested on charges he violated a 27-year-old Portersville woman's protection from abuse order.Police said Dale Gorsuch, 27, of Castle Shannon sent a text message to the woman while she was on Stanford Road in Muddy Creek Township. Gorsuch was placed in the Butler County Prison on a charge of indirect criminal contempt.5:13 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Donna S. Orgis, 63, of West Sunbury and Lisa R. Bell, 53, of Portersville collided on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said Orgis was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a minor injury. He was cited for not stopping at a red light.12:50 a.m. Friday — Michael Macurdy, 37, was charged with simple assault and harassment following an argument with Dianne Harigan of Saxonburg at his Butler Road home in Saxonburg6:59 a.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jill R. Proch, 25, of New Castle and a car driven by Jason D. Carr, 17, of Harrisville collided at Routes 8 and 108 in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Proch was cited for a stop sign violation.2:47 p.m. Tuesday — A youth on a school bus threw a piece of wood that hit a car traveling on Route 308 near Moniteau High School in Concord Township. The 85-year-old Concord Township woman driving the car was not hurt. Police did not identify the youth, who is charged with criminal mischief.6:06 p.m. Monday — An SUV driven by Brenda J. Huber, 41, and a pickup truck driven by Richard L. Walker, 43, both of Butler collided at Mercer and Duffy roads in Center Township.2:20 p.m. Sept. 11 — A car driven by Lauren A. Jewart, 18, of Chicora struck a utility pole, two mailboxes, a sign and a crane that was parked along Center Drive in Oakland Township. Police said Jewart, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a minor injury, was cited for a lane violation.Sept. 10 — Someone stole more than $4,000 worth of items from a building on Oakleaf Drive in Jefferson Township. The theft occurred between 7 a.m. July 5 and 3 p.m. Sept. 10.

4:30 p.m. Saturday — Three long guns, all with scopes, were found in an alley about a mile south of Route 861 in Madison Township. The firearms include two rifles and an over-under combination rifle and shotgun. The owner can claim the property by calling the barracks of 814-226-1710.Wednesday — A suspect, who police did not identify, is accused of stealing several undisclosed items Tuesday or Wednesday at Curran Wood Products in Madison Township.

10 p.m. Sept. 14 — Duane Thomas Rapp, 37, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at routes 28 and 356 in Buffalo Township, Butler County.

3:20 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Victor A. Silva, 18, of Grove City crashed into a pair of mailboxes and traveled through a private lot along North Liberty Road in Pine Township. Police said Silva, who did not stop after the crash, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving at an unsafe speedSaturday — An unknown thief stole a stop sign at Old School and Scrubgrass roads in Wolf Creek Township. Police said the sign was taken from the intersection between Sept. 14 and Saturday.9 p.m. Saturday — Troopers investigating an assault case discovered suspected marijuana growing at Jeffery Paul Emery's home on Old Ash Road in Springfield Township.Police, who seized the plants, charged Emery with manufacturing a controlled substance, and possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.11 a.m. Tuesday — John Major Laird, 37, of New Castle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 208 near Mine Road in Springfield Township.
