Virginia L. Sosovicka
Virginia L. Doerr Sosovicka, 93, of Sarver died Wednesday at the St. Barnabas Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 15, 1915, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of John Johnston and Florence Lessig Johnston.
She worked as a licensed practical nurse for a number of years at the Sunny Crest Nursing Home in Saxonburg and was a clerk at the Colonial Pharmacy in Sarver.
She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, the Saxonburg Golden Agers and the Buffalo Senior Citizens.
She liked to cook and bake, and she collected angels.
Surviving are three sons, John R. (Beverly) Doerr of Sarver, Donald E. (Doris) Doerr of Sarver and Russell (Lois) Doerr of Sarver; two daughters, Linda Zema (wife of the late Thomas Eckenrod) of Sarver and Carrie Lynn (Larry) Mirage of Cochranton; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Ralph Doerr, who died in 1975; her husband, Emil Sosovicka; five sisters; and two brothers.
<B>SOSOVICKA</B> — Friends of Virginia L. Doerr Sosovicka, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Greenfield officiating.
