1:50 p.m. Tuesday — James R. Hays, 31, of Butler was placed in the Butler County Prison on a warrant after a traffic stop on Carbon Street. An officer pulled over Hays' vehicle when he allegedly ran a stop sign at Eau Claire and Fourth streets.Police found Hays was driving with a suspended license and then learned he was wanted on a warrant. A search of his vehicle later turned up suspected marijuana in a cigarette pack.Hays is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving during suspension and a stop sign violation.State Police, Butler6:05 p.m. Sunday — Charles E. Tosi Jr., 48, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck sideswiped a car at Sunset and Pine drives. Tosi also faces tickets for careless driving and other traffic violations. Warren Daum, 48, of Butler was driving the car.5:45 a.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Michelle L. Willetts, 32, of Fenelton struck a guardrail on Mushroom Farm Road in Winfield Township. Willetts was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries. She was cited for a lane violation.9:45 p.m. Saturday — An unidentified Jeep, possibly a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, struck the back of a car in a hit-and-run crash on Route 8 near Stamm Road in Slippery Rock Township. Carrie A. Whitmer, 39, of Portersville was driving the car.Thursday — An unknown vandal broke a road mirror at Fairmont and Cherry roads in Fairview Township. The mirror was vandalized between Aug. 1 and Thursday.9:45 a. m. Aug. 17 — Kristin M. Clark, 20, of Butler and Marshall T. Simonic, 28, of Pittsburgh are suspected in connection with the theft of a Wii system and accessories as well as money from a home on Grant Avenue Extension in Oakland Township. The stolen property is valued at $150.Clark is charged with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property; Simonic is charged with receiving stolen property.
Sunday — Police reported they are investigating claims by an unidentified female that she was sexually assaulted over three years in Pine Township. Police did not identify the male suspect. No other information about the investigation was released.Friday — Police reported Corey Scott Milliren, 15, of Pine Township as a runaway after he left his home on Maple Terrace Drive. The teen, who left his home between 5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., is known to frequent the Grove City area. Anyone with information about the boy's whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Friday — A global positioning system was stolen from a car at the Grove City Mall on Leechburg-Grove City Road in Springfield Township. The unknown thief broke out the car's window to get inside sometime between 10:35 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.4:07 p.m. Aug. 17 — Douglas Michael Conner, 34, of Uniontown, Fayette County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his vehicle at Route 58 and George Junior Road in Pine Township.7:15 a.m. Aug 17 — Rachel E. Mangel, 21, of Grove City lost control of her car after speeding up to avoid another vehicle that crossed into her path, and drove into a yard on Route 258 in Liberty Township.1:25 a.m. Aug. 16 — Jeffrey Keith Noel, 51, of Grove City was arrested for DUI on North Broad Street in Grove City. Police also cited Noel for driving too closely to another vehicle, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.2:25 p.m. Aug. 13 — A car driven by Charles L. Rager, 20, of Harrisville rear ended another car on Route 173 in Pine Township. Rager and the other driver, Tracy Treen, 47, of Mercer suffered minor injuries. Rager was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.
