Toxicology tests clean on fireworks worker who died
WARMINSTER, Bucks County — Toxicology results show that a Butler native was sober when he was killed in a Fourth of July fireworks accident.
David Allen Walker, 19, son of Keith and Sherry Walker of Greenville, Mercer County, originally of Butler, but who lived in Pulaski at the time of his death, was killed during a fireworks show in Quakertown, about 40 miles north of Philadelphia.
He was working for Zambelli Fireworks Internationale of New Castle at the time.
Bucks County Coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell ruled Walker died from neck trauma in a fireworks accident.
Campbell ordered toxicology tests for Walker's body, looking for any drugs and alcohol in his system at the time of the accident, but he said Monday nothing was found.
During the fireworks show, a shell exploded on the ground. Debris from the blast hit Walker in the chest and neck. He was taken to St. Luke-Quakertown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
