8:40 p.m. Thursday — Renee Marie Vogel, 34, of Glenshaw was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving while privilege suspended and required financial responsibility following investigation of a vehicle parked in front of a known drug house on Negley Avenue.3:12 p.m. Thursday — A 14-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle driven by Carol A. Mohr, 59, on Hansen Avenue.
11:30 a.m. Thursday — Heather Lynn Burke, 34, of Butler was charged with corruption of minors and retail theft after she and a juvenile allegedly tried to leave Wal-Mart without paying for several items. The juvenile also was charged with retail theft.Wednesday — Christopher Paul Simmons, 26, of Ellwood City was charged with 17 counts of access device fraud after he allegedly used a stolen debit card 17 times between September and December 2008.7:07 p.m. Aug. 8 — A vehicle driven by Catherine Whitling, 30, of Butler and a vehicle driven by Kirk Edwards, 50, of Butler collided at the intersection of Moraine Pointe Plaza and New Castle Road. Whitling was charged with DUI. No one was injured.
10:15 p.m. Aug. 8 — Tammy L. Peters was cited for several violations after the vehicle she was driving on North Center Street allegedly struck a curb and a fire hydrant and continued on. When police arrived at the scene, Peters had fled. The car was towed.State Police, Butler2:15 p.m. Thursday — Someone broke into a home along Prospect Road in Franklin Township and stole several items belonging to Martha Trecinik of Prospect. The break-in occurred after 11 p.m. Wednesday.6:44 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Sara M. Davis, 30, of Butler crashed into a utility pole along East Brewster Road in Center Township. Davis was not injured.7 p.m. Monday — Using explosives, someone destroyed a mailbox on Borchert Road in Cherry Valley belonging to Larry J. Lint. The incident occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. Monday.Aug. 9 — Someone stole about 600 feet of copper wire belonging to Riverview Homes of Butler from a work site on William Flinn Highway in Center Township between Aug. 8 and Aug. 9.
Friday — A car driven by Vernon D. Steele, 72, of Kittanning and a car driven by Arthur M. Delano Jr., 66, of East Brady collided on Route 422 in West Franklin Township. No one was injured.
