Joseph Leslie of Connoquenessing will participate in Growmark's summer intern program.An agribusiness major at Penn State University, Leslie will spend 12 weeks working on a special project at Growmark in Kittanning.He and 47 other interns will meet in August in Bloomington, Ind., at the company's headquarters to present a summary of their projects.Leslie is the son of David and Brenda Leslie of Connoquenessing.———
Kristie Dash of Cranberry Township received the Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Award for superior citizenship and achievement in national competition.A student at Seneca Valley High School, Dash was one of 50 students chosen from across the country. Candidates are judged by their personal and community service achievements in addition to scholastic and entrepreneurial categories.Hamilton Awards are given annually by the Alexander Hamilton Friends Association of Seattle, Wash. Among the awards are a cash prize and a celebratory proclamation signed by Doug Hamilton, the fifth great-grandson of Alexander Hamilton.———
<B>Trisha Barlett</B> of Knoch High School was granted a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week 2009 at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williams-port.A senior, Barlett will attend a weeklong session starting Sunday. During the week, student companies simulate the operation of their own businesses for the equivalent of three years and face many of the same decisions real executives confront.
