2:45 a.m. Wednesday — A South Magnolia Drive resident reported finding a trash can burning in the middle of the road. The resident put out the blaze before firefighters got there. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
4:30 p.m. Thursday — Jeremy Rutherford, 18, of Bruin is accused of threatening a 17-year-old Parker boy after pulling a knife from his waistband in the rear parking lot at the Bruin Elementary School in Bruin. The alleged threat came as both teens were involved in an argument.Rutherford faces charges of terroristic threats and harassment. The 17-year-old, who police did not identify, also faces a charge of harassment.Wednesday — Police filed charges against Nathan Osborne Hines, 25, of Slippery Rock who is accused of illegally using a bank card to withdraw $400 from the account of a 52-year-old Slippery Rock Township woman. Hines is charged with theft and access device fraud.6:20 a.m. July 7 — Michael Otis Vanfossen, 48, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 in Clearfield Township. Police later learned Vanfossen was wanted for three warrants out of Cambria County.
Monday — An unidentified youth is suspected of stealing scrap metal from Buzzard's Welding Shop in Boggs Township.
June 30 — Police suspect a previous tenant stole a refrigerators, washer and dryer from a home at Majors Trailer Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The appliances are valued at $1,400.
