11:26 p.m. Wednesday — Christopher Richard Curry, 34, of Butler is accused of going to a West Jefferson Street apartment uninvited and allegedly intoxicated. When repeatedly asked to leave by two women who live there, police said, he refused.One of the 54-year-old tenants became so upset that she suffered chest pains and paramedics had to be called to treat her, a police report said.Police arrested Curry, who faces charges of defiant trespass and public drunkenness.Wednesday — Police said they have recovered a number of items believed stolen from parked vehicles June 29 and 30 in the city as well as Meridian and Lyndora in Butler Township. The owners are asked to call police at 724-287-7743 to claim their property.Police noted that arrest in the case are pending once all the victims have been identified.Wednesday — Police reported that Devin M. Lutz, 24, of Jackson Township faces theft charges for allegedly stealing a pair of bikes from a Second Avenue home on June 17 or 18.Wednesday — An unknown burglar between 4 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. stole a boy's bicycle in a garage at a State Street home. The bike, valued at $150, is a white, X Games BMX model.10:40 a.m. Tuesday — A witness in a hit-and-run accident investigation turned out to be wanted on a fugitive warrant in Ohio, police said.Richard Leroy Quinn, 43, of Butler had spoken to police about seeing Saturday's motorcycle crash on East Brady Street home near his home. During the crash investigation, police learned that Quinn was being sought by Ohio authorities for a state parole violation.Police arrested Quinn, who was placed in the Butler County Prison on $256,000 bail.Tuesday — Police charged William George Miller, 23, of Allegheny Township with theft for allegedly stealing $200 in quarters and about 30 Vicodin pills from a friend's West Penn Street home on June 24.
7:52 p.m. Tuesday — Jill Jancse, 26, of Portersville allegedly stole merchandise from Wal-Mart in the Butler Commons. Police said she also made a false return for money at the store.Police arrested the defendant, who was banned from the store following a shoplifting case last year. A search turned up two syringes in her purse, a police report said.Jancse was arraigned on charges of felony retail theft, receiving stolen property, theft by deception, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia; she later was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.3:17 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by John Lucovich, 81, of Sarver and Tammy Albright, 32, of Lyndora collided at Brown and Morton avenues. The collision pushed Albright's vehicle into a vehicle driven by Christopher Bellis, 36, of Butler.Albright was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries. Police said Lucovich was cited for a stop sign violation.1:35 p.m. Tuesday — Keith Allen Brison, 29, of Kittanning is accused of shoplifting about $300 in merchandise at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Brison is charged with retail theft.7:52 a.m. Tuesday — Dayne A, Irwin, 57, of Butler was arrested on charges after he allegedly drove to the parking lot of Moraine Pointe Plaza and parked near his estranged wife's workplace. The suspect's wife has a protection from abuse order against Irwin.Police said the defendant in the past two weeks on three occasions was seen parked near where his wife works.Dayne was arraigned for stalking, harassing and violating the PFA order, and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.10:28 a.m. Monday — Jennifer Weibel, 33, of Leechburg, Armstrong County, faces a retail theft charge for allegedly taking 10 DVDs valued at $462 from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons.
3:14 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Michael Babeji, 20, of Lawrence, Pa., crashed into a guardrail after one of its tires blew out on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.5:35 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by John D. Vedilago, 31, of Portersville struck a utility pole along Old Route 8, near Route 138, in Clay Township. Vedilago and Stacy L. Nicholson, a passenger, suffered minor injuries; neither was wearing a seat belt. Police said Vedilago was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.9:13 a.m. Tuesday — David Ross, 44, of Bethel Park, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 at the General Butler Bridge in ButlerTuesday — A Beretta .22-caliber pistol was stolen from a pickup truck at a Hufnagel Road home in Muddy Creek Township. The theft occurred between 1 p.m. Monday and 10 p.m. Tuesday.Tuesday — An unknown burglar stole six collectible Dale Earnhardt Matchbox cars and a collectible Dale Earnhardt miniature tractor-trailer from an abandoned trailer on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township. The burglary occurred between 4 p.m. Monday and 4 p.m. Tuesday,Tuesday — Someone between 5 and 6 p.m. stole four pocket knives that were on display for sale at a Moraine Drive home in Muddy Creek Township.Monday — Police filed theft-related charges against Georgette Rose Fleeger, 37, of Concord Township for allegedly stealing a friend's debit card, and on June 25 using the card at an automated teller machine at a Concord Township store to withdraw $100.Police said Fleeger was given the chance to pay back the victim before the matter went to court, but didn't. She is charged with theft, forgery and access device fraud.9:17 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Charleen Palermo, 20, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, struck the rear of a 1992 International Harvester truck at Routes 422 and 488 in Franklin Township. Police said Palermo was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Curt A. Dick, 35, of Butler was driving the truck.Sunday — A plastic Dale Earnhardt bank containing about $700 in coins was stolen in a burglary at a Route 38 home in Washington Township. The burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.6:10 p.m. Saturday — Tammy Michel, 30, of Butler was arrested for DUI on Route 356 at the Auto Zone in Butler Township.1:15 a.m. June 13 — Donald Wikert, 56, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of DUI at a sobriety checkpoint on Route 8 in Middlesex Township.7:50 p.m. June 12 — John Frederick Clemens, 56, of Clay Township was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 138 near Beaver Dam Road in Clay Township.
2:04 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Eugene T. Merwin, 48, of Kittanning struck a guardrail on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. Police said Merwin was cited for a lane violation.
3:35 p.m. June 17 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Nathan Weisenstein, 20, of Ellwood City and a pickup truck driven by Larry Tomczyk, 57, of New Castle collided on Rose Point-Harlansburg Road near County Line Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Tomczyk suffered minor injuries.
