10:22 a.m. Wednesday — A 14-year-old boy faces felony assault and other charges for allegedly kicking a police officer and spitting in the officer's face during a disturbance at the Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center on Hillvue Drive.The boy, who police did not identify, is charged in juvenile court with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. The officer apparently was not injured.8:24 p.m. Tuesday — A pair of suspected shoplifters at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons landed in more trouble with the law when police found them with suspected heroin and syringes.Brandy Lane, 21, of Saxonburg and Kristen Leroy, 22, of Cabot were nabbed when a store security officer spotted them allegedly putting merchandise in their purses. Both women are charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

6:20 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Codey R. Double, 18, of Harrisville struck a tree and rolled onto its roof along Boyers Road near Ferrere Lane in Marion Township. Double, who was not wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury, was cited for a lane violation.4 a.m. Tuesday — Vandals spray painted the walls and floors of the West Sunbury Car Wash and the honor roll memorial in the borough. The suspects fled south on Route 308 in a red Pontiac Grand Am. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.9:50 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Stephen A. Santa, 65, of Conneaut, Crawford County, hit a deer on Interstate 79, south of West Liberty Road in Worth Township.

11:19 a.m. Wednesday —Dewayne L. Fletcher, 25, of Butler is accused in connection with a fight at West Wayne and South Washington streets. The suspect swung punches at and scratched the neck and face of Robert Budmark, 34, of Butler.Fletcher also allegedly threatened to return and "shoot up" Budmark's house, according to a police report. Fletcher is charged with two counts of simple assault as well as harassment and disorderly conduct.3:56 p.m. May 29 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Louise Leonard, 45, of Butler and a car driven by Gregg Rider, 46, of Concord Township collided on Pillow Street.
