Township rejects road paving bids
BUTLER TWP — The Butler Township commissioners Monday rejected all of its road paving bids due to high costs.
Ed Kirkwood, township manager, said the commissioners were not comfortable with any of the prices. He did not say which roads were on the list to be paved.
"We put our program together based on need, so those in worst condition will be first," Kirkwood said.
Kirkwood said $400,000 has been set aside for road paving this summer.
The commissioners will receive new bids June 15.
"Hopefully then the pricing will be where we think it should (be)," Kirkwood said.
