Andrew and Marylois Shayka

Andrew and Marylois Shayka of Butler will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a family dinner Saturday in Butler.

Shayka married the former Marylois Andritz on June 6, 1959, at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Avonmore.

They have two children, Nancy Reese of Butler and Robert Shayka of Titusville, Fla.

They also have four grandchildren.

Shayka is retired from the Pennsylvania State Police. He belongs to the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Police.Mrs. Shayka is retired from working as the registration clerk at Butler Memorial Hospital. She belongs to the Christian Mothers and TOPS.The couple belongs to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church and enjoys spending winters in Titusville, Fla.
