10:10 p.m. Thursday — Steven Russell Brown, 41, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, 40-year-old Pamela Bair, at the couple's North Elm Street home. Brown also is accused of falsely claiming that he was the victim and that Bair hit him, police said.The defendant, meanwhile, struggled with police when they tried to handcuff him, according to a police report. An officer had to place him in a headlock, police said, until he complied.Brown is charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, false reports to law enforcement authorities, harassment and public drunkenness.9:15 p.m. Thursday — Donald M. Harbison, 42, no known address, was arrested after he entered a vacant house on West North Street. Police said Harbison was found sleeping in a room on the first floor of the house, which had been vacated due to foreclosure.Harbison was arraigned on a charge of trespass, and placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bond.12:38 p.m. Tuesday — Two women face charges in connection with a suspected drug deal on Main Street near North Street.An anonymous caller tipped off police to the alleged deal, identifying a white man as the dealer and a white woman as the buyer. When officers got there, the man was gone.The suspected buyer, Lisa Marie Blake, 27, of Butler, however, was stopped and allegedly found with four stamp bags of suspected heroin, a police report said. Jouline Louise Walker, 19, of Butler, who apparently was with Blake, was found with a syringe, and was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — Task force officers filed a pair of felony narcotics cases against Steven Robert Spare, 24, of Butler stemming from two alleged drug deals in Butler.Spare is accused of selling two stamp bags of heroin to an undercover officer for $40, on March 31 and again on April 15.He is charged with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

9:48 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Nicole M. Uhall, 18, of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, and a pickup driven by Jarrod J. Bair, 24, of Butler collided on Freeport Road in Summit Township.

10:26 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by David L. Chaffee, 56, of Stoneboro struck two trees along Route 173 near Scrubgrass Road in Wolf Creek Township. Police said Chaffee, who was not wearing a seat belt, was treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries.
