Wamboldt 90th birthday
Pearl Wamboldt of Slippery Rock celebrated her 90th birthday with a surprise dinner with family and friends at the Italian Villa.
The former Pearl Thompson was born April 10, 1919, in Claytonia. She married Charles Wamboldt Sr. on July 27, 1956. He is deceased.
She has six children, Harold Wamboldt of Philipsburg, Karen Shipton of Slippery Rock, Cindy Sheppeck of Butler, Richard Wamboldt of Mercer, Charles Wamboldt Jr. of Wildwood, Mo., and Grei Gardner of New Castle. She also has 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wamboldt is a retired secretary for the Moniteau School District. She also worked for the Butler Shirt Company, Woolworth and Pryor Restaurant. She served as a matron for her father, Robert Thompson, who was the sheriff of Butler County.
Mrs. Wamboldt enjoys traveling and playing the organ and the piano. She belongs to St. John's United Methodist Church.
