Sara and Lee Schnell

Lee and Sara Schnell of Karns City celebrated 50 years of marriage with an open house and family dinner Sunday at the Karns City United Methodist Church in Karns City.

Schnell married the former Sara Vensel on May 8, 1959, at Chicora Methodist Church in Chicora.

They have four children, Valerie Paganelli of Butler, Dexter Schnell of Herman, Carla Jack of Bruin and Misty Black of Chicora.

They also have six grandchildren.Schnell is retired from working for 40 years as a supervisor at Witco. His wife is a homemaker.The couple belongs to Karns City United Methodist Church and enjoys spending winters in Eustis, Fla.
