12:01 a.m. Friday Kenneth Young, 41, of Butler was charged with simple assault following an argument with his wife at their West Jefferson Street apartment.7:54 p.m. Thursday Frederick Lee Bowen, 42, of Butler was charged with retail theft after he allegedly tried to steal 12 DVDs valued at $108 from the Dollar General on North Main Street.5:43 p.m. Thursday Michael Allen Kopps, 37, of Hilliards was charged with fraud, exceeding maximum speed limits, driving with expired registration, invalid inspection and driving without insurance following a traffic stop along North Main Street.12:38 a.m. Thursday Colleen Linda Biondo, 45, of Butler was charged with false reports to law enforcement, harassment and public drunkenness after she allegedly made false allegations about her son to police in two phone calls.11:59 p.m. Wednesday George Washington Staley III, 40, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana after police responded to his Brugh Avenue home on a separate matter and allegedly discovered the marijuana and a glass pipe on his coffee table.8:16 p.m. Wednesday Two 11-year-olds were charged in juvenile court with disorderly conduct and dangerous burning after they admitted setting a Dumpster on fire in Father Marinaro Park.
6:20 p.m. Thursday A car driven by Jennifer S. Salusky, 30, of Butler crashed into an embankment along Route 68 in Forward Township. Salusky, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.10:28 a.m. Thursday A pickup truck driven by Kenneth L. Douglass, Sr., 66, of Hilliards crashed into a utility pole then a tree along West Sunbury Road in Marion Township. Douglass was not injured.2 p.m. April 18 A green Diamondback mountain bike and a blue Schwinn mountain bike were taken from the path between Hilltop Drive and Clearview Mall in Center Township between 6 p.m. April 17 and 2 p.m. April 18. Any one with information can call police at 724-284-8100.
11:35 p.m. Thursday Nancy Pauline McDermott, 54, of Kittanning was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop along Bear Street Extension in North Buffalo Township.
5:38 p.m. April 7 Charles Joseph Nero, 38, of New Castle was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop in the parking lot of Johnson Sisters Cafe in Slippery Rock Township.
