Stoops 60th anniversary
John and Reba Stoops of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage Wednesday with a family dinner and a trip to Santa Ana, Calif.
Stoops married the former Reba McCandless on April 21, 1949, at First United Presbyterian Church in Butler.
They have three children, Glenn Stoops of Herman, Randy Stoops of Clintonville and Vicki Cessna of Santa Ana.
They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Stoops is retired from working as a maintenance foreman for Armco Steel. He belongs to the Victory Lodge 694 Free and Accepted Masons and the New Castle Consistory. He is also a World War II Army Air Force veteran.Mrs. Stoops, as a homemaker, belongs to the Maqueda Chapter 421 Order of the Eastern Star.The couple belongs to Westminster Presbyterian Church, where Mr. Stoops serves as an elder.
