John and Ida Deitz

John and Ida Deitz of East Brady celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner April 9 at the Texas Roadhouse.

Deitz married the former Ida Early on April 9, 1959, in Chicora.

They have four children, Robert Russell of East Brady, Patricia Deitz of Chicora, Samuel Deitz of East Brady and Kimberly Sleigher of Rimersburg. They also have nine grandchildren.

Deitz retired in 1979 from the U.S. Air Force and in 1999 from U.S. Postal Service. His wife is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in East Brady.
