Regional drug trend forum slated at BC3
BUTLER TWP The nonprofit group Candle will host its biennial Regional Drug Trends Forum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 at Butler County Community College.
The event will be the third forum Candle has hosted to tell people of drug trends and related crime activity, according to a news release from the group.
Candle issues a drug trends index report based on information gathered at the event.
A parent to parent program from 7 to 9 p.m. will include Jeff Williams, a Cleveland police officer, and Phil Bauer, who each lost a son to drug abuse.
Williams lost his son, Kyle, to inhalant use, while Bauer lost his son, Mark, to prescription drug abuse after an injury, according to the release.
Candle, a six-year-old agency based in Butler, has received national acclaim for its Reality Tour drug prevention program, which has been replicated across Pennsylvania since 2004.
