Monday Numerous construction tools were stolen overnight from a work van at Fairfield Inn on Fairfield Lane. The unknown thief smashed a window to get into the van and steal the power tools. The theft occurred between midnight and 8 a.m.State Police, Butler9:10 a.m. Monday Dylan Randall Snyder, 23, of Harrisville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Harmony Road near Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township. A search of his car turned up several small bags of suspected marijuana.In addition to DUI, he faces charges of possession of marijuana and unspecified traffic violations.5:35 a.m. Monday Douglas Thompson, 54, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 68 near Constitution Road in Connoquenessing Township.Monday A metal-bending tool was stolen from Campground Road in Mercer Township. The theft occurred between March 9 and Monday.10:25 a.m. Friday Pickup trucks driven by Michael J. Scott, 20, and Howard A. Connell, 76, both of Slippery Rock, collided on West Park Road near Billsburg Boulevard in Worth Township. Scott was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Friday A blue, Yamaha Grizzly 660 all-terrain vehicle with a snow plow, black Yardman riding lawn tractor and Ryobi weed eater were stolen between March 23 and Friday from a shed of a Bela Road home in Perry Township. Kevin Wilson of Parker owns the stolen property, valued at $5,200.

6:15 p.m. Tuesday Two people, one of them a baby, were hurt when they were thrown out of a car that crashed and rolled over on Bradley Road in Worth Township, Mercer County.The driver, Sarah Hetrick, 27, Sheakleyville, and the 6-month-old boy, suffered unknown injuries. A police report did not identify the relationship between the two, both taken to St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Their conditions were not known this morning.Hetrick was not wearing a seat belt. The baby was in a car seat.April 1 Heidi Cunningham, 43, of New Castle is accused of stealing a cell phone valued at $179 from a woman's room at Orchard Manor nursing home in Pine Township. A police report noted the suspect is a nurse's aide who was taking care of the victim. Cunningham is charged with theft.
