Sunday — Two prom dresses, sports trading cards and other undisclosed items were reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Bessemer Avenue. The break-in occurred sometime in the past week.Police described the dresses as full length with spaghetti straps. One of the dresses is black with white sheer at the top and down the back, and the other is red.12:09 a.m. Saturday — James Cogley, 30, of Butler was arrested on a bench warrant following a traffic stop on Acre Avenue. Police said Cogley also was cited for driving with a suspended license and a stop sign violation.Saturday — Someone between 6:50 and 9:15 p.m. smashed the driver's side window of a pickup truck parked at Regal Cinema in Moraine Pointe Plaza. The owner found nothing missing from the truck.
8:30 a.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Joshua R. Work, 22, of New Castle and a car driven by Kenneth D. Quel, 49, of West Sunbury collided at Route 308 and Jamisonville Road in Center Township. Police said Work was cited for a stop sign violation.12:30 a.m. Saturday — Billie Ann Kerr, 52, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Butler Township.Friday — A Fairview Township woman reported that more than $740 was withdrawn from her bank account without her knowledge or permission. The unauthorized withdrawals, made with the woman's debit card number, occurred between Dec. 19 and Friday.4:45 p.m. Wednesday — Two Slippery Rock men face drug-related charges stemming from a traffic stop at Route 422 and Currie Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said a search of the car driven by Benjamin A. Mauthe, 26, turned up 20 stamp bags of suspected heroin and a plastic syringe. James Clifford Davidson, 23, was a passenger in the vehicle.
3:35 p.m. Sunday — Dennis Potts, 45, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck traveled over an embankment and rolled over on Nicholson Run Road in South Buffalo Township. Dean Potts, 48, of Butler, a passenger, suffered minor injuries.Wednesday — A Templeton man is accused of stealing tools from a contractor for Butler County Prison. Richard Ellwood Myers Jr., 50, is charged with receiving stolen property in the case.Police said a search of the defendant's former home in Pine Township and other unspecified property he owns in Boggs Township turned up several missing tools owned by Alabama-based Cornerstone Detention Products.A police report noted that Myers is a member of a local ironworkers union and is currently employed at the prison worksite. He was arraigned and placed in Armstrong County Jail on $10,00 bail.
