5:59 p.m. Thursday — Leah Christine McGee, 19, of Butler was charged with false reports to law enforcement after she allegedly lied about the identity of her boyfriend, Ryan M. Kelly, 27, of Butler, when police arrived at their Fourth Avenue residence to serve a warrant on Kelly.1:34 p.m. Feb. 8 — Tyler Duane Smith, 23, of Butler was charged with access device fraud after he allegedly twice withdrew $403 belonging to Nicole Lynn Nelson of Butler, using the ATM at Marathon on North Main Street without her permission.
9:28 a.m. Wednesday — Mark N. Frank, 48, of Butler was charged with two counts of retail theft, two counts of prohibited offensive weapons and driving while suspended, DUI-related, after police were dispatched to Ollie's for a report of retail theft.11:48 a.m. Tuesday — Steven Currence, 51, and Donald Querry, 61, both of Butler, each were charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct following a fight at Whitestown Village Apartments.
2:30 p.m. Thursday — Some one broke into the home of Anthony and Sharon Carbon on Shearer Road in Oakland Township between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Guns, jewelry, a flat-screen TV and cash valued at $7,850 were taken from the home. Any one with information should call police at 724-284-8100.1:10 p.m. Thursday — Some one broke into a home belonging to Orvel Seal, 75, on Keck Road in Summit Township. Police were alerted by an automatic alarm system, but the suspect fled before they arrived.12:05 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Sean J. Tress, 26, of New Castle struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Tress and his passengers, Anthony J. Holliday, 18, of New Castle, Richard R. Boggs, 22, of Enon Valley and a 16-year-old New Castle boy were not injured. Another passenger, Joshua R. Banfield, 20, of New Castle suffered a minor injury.Feb. 12 — Someone stole a four-inch Gorman-Rupp water pump valued at $3,000 and two portable grinders valued at $30 each, all belonging to Thomas E. Seigel of Shippenville, from the Bruin Stane plant on Hassenflu Road in Parker Township.
3 a.m. Tuesday — Someone broke into the Tic Toc Food Mart on Ellwood Road in Slippery Rock Township by cutting telephone and alarm wires then prying the lock from the door. Cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets were stolen. Anyone with information should call police at 724-598-2211.Feb. 20 — Some one forced open a garage door at 202 Mt. Hope Furnace Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, stealing a .22 caliber rifle belonging to Robert R. Ostermeyere of Portersville between 8 p.m. Feb. 19 and 6 a.m. Feb. 20.
Dec. 19 — The Paul W. Wood V.F.W. Post 7840 on Oneida Valley Road in Emlenton was cited for gambling violations.
