Lucille Walker Love
Lucille Walker Love, 98, of Fairway Lane died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday in the St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.
Born May 21, 1910, in Queen Junction, Clay Township, she was the daughter of the late William Porterfield and the late Blanche Lockard Porterfield.
Mrs. Love was a secretary for Knoch High School, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for 20 years. Mrs. Love was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Penn Township Socialites.
Mrs. Love is survived by her two sons and their wives, Rex L. and Nancy Walker of Grove City and Richard O. and Kitty Walker of Butler; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one stepson, Richard Love of Butler; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lee (Mary) Murphy of Rimersburg and Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Carney of Butler; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Twila L. Kaiser of Palmer, Alaska; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Maxwell Love, whom she married June 9, 1972, and who passed away July 2, 1995; one grandson, Richard Paul Walker; one brother; one sister; and two stepdaughters.
<B>LOVE</B> — Friends of Lucille Walker Love, who died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Nixon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Merritt of Nixon United Methodist Church and the Rev. Henry B.
