Ronald E. Johnson

Ronald E. Johnson, 90, of 530 N. Main St. died Sunday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born March 7, 1918, in Latrobe, a son of the late James E. and Gertrude Gibson Johnson.

Mr. Johnson attended and graduated from the Latrobe schools. He next attended Geneva College and finished his education when he graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in 1950.

He set up his practice in Butler in 1950 and worked until his retirement in 1979.

Mr. Johnson served in the infantry in the European theater during World War II and was held a prisoner of war in Germany.

His wife, Katherine Schroff Johnson, whom he married May 24, 1951, survives him. Also surviving are three sons, Craig M. Johnson of Mount Laurel, N.J., Eric S. Johnson and his wife, Grace, of Fairless Hills, and D. Keith Johnson and his wife, Linda, of Kittanning; three daughters, Celestine D. Graham of Brooksville, Fla., Mrs. Timothy (Cynthia L.) Boden of Butler and Mrs. Thomas (Cecilia A.) Colwell of Templeton; and two sisters, Mrs. James (Ann) Slosarik of Latrobe and Dorothy J. Paul of Arcadia, Calif. Eleven grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

<B>JOHNSON</B> — There will be no visitation. Private memorial services will be held for Ronald E. Johnson, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009.
