Robert H. Johnston, 80, of Renfrew died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 15, 1928, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harry T. and Margaret L. (Neyman) Johnston.

Mr. Johnston was a 65-year member of Park Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, where he served as a deacon and elder. At the church, he ran the sound board, was a liturgist, started the acolyte program and was a former Sunday school superintendent and teacher.

He worked for Butler Lumber & Supply Co., Sprint Telephone Co., and was a driver for B.A.R.T.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Mr. Johnson enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gene A. (Smith) Johnston, who he married June 18, 1948; a son, Richard "Rick" Johnston and his wife, Judith, of Greensburg; and two granddaughters, Melissa and Kristen Johnston.

<B>JOHNSTON</B> — Friends of Robert H. Johnston, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc.</B>, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Park Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Patrick H. McElroy, his church pastor, officiating. Everyone, please meet at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to Park Presbyterian Church, 115 E.
