Clyde E. Allison

Clyde E. Allison, 87, of Prospect went to his new home in Heaven to live with Jesus Saturday.

He was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Forward Township and was the son of Frank and Eva Burr Allison.

He was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Prospect.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a seaman second class in the Navy.

He retired from Cooper Bessemer in Grove City. He also had worked for the former Pullman Standard in Butler and Eisler's Nursery in Prospect.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Oertel, who he married Sept. 6, 1941; four daughters, Mrs. William (Dolores) Hays of Prospect, Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Powell of Butler, Mrs. Kenneth (Nancy) Anderson of Oklahoma and Mrs. Robert (Carol) Christley of Prospect; a son, Robert Allison of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are a brother, Dean Allison of Butler; and a stepbrother, Theodore Waldron of Butler.

He was preceded by a sister, Lois Patton.

<B>ALLISON</B> — Visitation for Clyde E. Allison, who died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, 443 Main St., Prospect. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Prospect with the Rev. Ben Oesterling officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Zion Baptist Church in Prospect.
