Donald Benson Kinkead, 80, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Mars, died Sunday at the Via Christi Medical Center, Wichita.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores E. McKinney Kinkead; a daughter, the Rev. Angela Gay Kinkead of Buckhannon, W.Va.; and a son, Sterling Dean Kinkead of Wichita.

Born June 4, 1928, in Philipsburg, he was the son of Lawrence and Ella Lupton Kinkead.

He was a graduate of Philipsburg High School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Kyoto, Japan.

Don retired from the Love Box Co., where he was a structural designer, in 2003. He was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist, Wichita.

Don was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Also surviving him are a sister, Jean (Bob) Kinkead Fooks of Phillipsburg, sisters-in-law Adean McKinney of Brookville, Marion McKinney McNaughton of Palmetto, Fla., Marilyn McKinney of Youngsville, and Carolyn (Clair) McKinney Motter of Brookville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>KINKEAD</B> — A celebration of life for Donald Benson Kinkead, who died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Sligo Presbyterian Church.
