William Rush Kober

William Rush Kober, 72, formerly of Cherry Township, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday at the Slippery Rock Personal Care Home, Slippery Rock Township, after a six-year illness with leukemia.

Born in Cherry Township, Jan. 1, 1937, he was the son of Emmanuel Kober Sr. and Mary Whitehead Patton Kober.

Mr. Kober had been roadmaster for Cherry Township for many years.

He was a Protestant and had enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and football.

Surviving are three sisters, Anna Bishop of Grove City, Clara Grabigel of Grove City and Lucille Herring of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two brothers, Horace E. Kober of Slippery Rock and Emmanuel "Manny" Kober Jr. of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Emmanuel Kober Jr.; and two other brothers, Joseph Kober and James Eugene Kober Sr.

<B>KOBER</B> — The family of William Rush Kober, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, will observe private graveside services later in Slippery Rock. There will be no other public services.Arrangements are by the <B>Smith Funeral Home, </B>Slippery Rock.
